Oloffbeauty, the sponsor of the Barex Italiana’ s hair team for New York Fashion Week, just sent us some fun press about the hair created for Monique Lhuillier’s show: Buns, braided with black satin. Simple, lovely and …. it kind of reminds me of a modern Scrunchie (yep, went there). My list of hair tricks to try is growing by the hour.
Photos, videos, how-to’s and products, here ya go!

(Word is they’ll have step-by-step how-tos in the next couple of days; I’ll let you know!)

THE LOOK
“The collection had a strong Chinese warrior theme, so I decided to create a graphic, high-shine knotted sculpture on the top of the models’ heads. I really wanted the style to seem more like a piece of fabric than hair. I didn’t want anything soft or realistic.” Rudi Lewis, Barex Style Team Leader.

THE PRODUCTS
Hair was sprayed with Barex Gloss Hairspray, divided into sections and pulled up to the crown and tied into little ponytails. These were soaked with Barex Volumizzante Spray and Barex Tricolife Serum and then braided with black satin. Fabric-hair braid was then piled up and pinned in place – finished with Gloss Hairspray.
