Some More Dry Shampoo Fun

Hey hey! So I spent some time browsing Allure’s website, just looking for any new tips that they might have, and as it turns out, they’ve been talking to Oscar Blandi about his Pronto Dry Shampoo also! While Rachelle used it to bring her awesome curls back to life, they used it to create the perfect summer side braid.

We’re still playing around with new ways to use this fun product, does anyone else have a dry shampoo technique of their own? And, if you’ve used Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo and love it as much as we do, write a review!

Rihanna’s Red

Good morning! How was your weekend? I’m sure none of you forgot that today’s the day I’ll be announcing the Subscription Prize. 6 p.m. EST one of you lucky readers will be receiving a serious hair styling kit upgrade!

In other news, Rihanna got a new ‘do:

According to Mis Jia, RiRi undid it the next day and went back to an only slightly tamer mane:

Whether it was a tease or here to stay, which hue would you choose – Blonde or Bordeaux?

Sea Inspired Hair

Earlier this week, Glamour asked readers if they loved or hated Kirsten Dunst’s Wavy, Asymmetrical Upsweep.

I think: Sea inspired! The way it’s swept back looks very hair-underwater or frozen-in-motion. Quite beautiful and paired with that accessory it’s very Ariel or Ursula.

SPEAKING OF – Ariel had FABulous hair, did she not? Wow, I haven’t thought about her in years. I wanted that hair bhad. It was perfect. Full, an impossible shade of red and … it floated.

Funny to reference a redhead because the first comment over at Glamour was about how beautiful Dunst is as one. (Remember that? I hardly could. I’m so used to her being blond.)

From the front: Pretty even with its bit of frizz.

It looks almost dew covered. Which is better than what I looked like after taking the scenic route home from work yesterday and meeting a monsoon. Alas, my Keratin treatment has nearly expired. (What do you think, should I do it again or go back to curls?)

Thoughts?

How do you do, Erykah Badu

I mentioned Erykah Badu briefly earlier this week and just had to follow up with a little tribute to her hair. Because, well:

(this is how I remember her)

We’ll let this one go,

because she makes this look effortless.

Love.

Distracted by the fox face.

Yep, still going.

Then, I realized she was in the Tom Ford fragrance ads.

Natural hair persisting … makes me happy just looking at it …

And, my absolute favorite: The afro she’s rocking today. It puts Marc Jacobs’ batch to shame. It’s … illegal.

Breakin the law.

It is Good Friday. Big plans anyone? How will you do your hair?

Hair Tie Up

Angelina Jolie bought a new purse. An Akris ecru horsehair handbag. She called to check up on the horse/mane treatment.

“We told her horses get haircuts just like we do,” Akris designer Albert Kriemler said of the bag, which is made with hair from horse tails.

The bag:

The buyer, who maybe gets less frequent haircuts than the horses?

Snooki’s favorite hair product is dry shampoo, and she does not use a BumpIt.

“I love dry shampoo because it doesn’t leave your hair sticky and pretty much holds it better. I just spent like $80 on dry shampoo. I don’t even need to tease my hair or do anything, because if you feel my hair it’s very thick. So when I get out of the shower, I just let it dry and put it up in a poof–it takes two seconds.”

Dry shampoo was my guess at the mysterious Lindsey Lohan feet mishap.

Erykah Badu’s got a good do (get it?) and new album

Sporting Sprightly Color

I’m loving the hair in Vogue Italia‘s new editorial. Braids, and fantasy shades in all sorts of ways. How intriguing is the color placement? Woven together (above), braided into the blond (immediately below), colored on either side of the braid, or just on the braid itself (below and far below) …

This technique reminds me of eye-shadow. I love the concept of treating your hair like a blank canvas, applying color the same way you would makeup. This makes me want to be blonde! I’m going to have to find a way to work dreamy color into my springtime hair.

Speaking of, are any of you taking advantage of my Fantasy Land giveaway?

Site also features a video montage and interview clips with actress Zoe Saldana, whose hair is not only gorgeous – shiny, perfectly done and flattering in a whole variety of styles – but also so versatile! She’s quite a chameleon. Makes sense, given that’s she’s an actress, okay.

On the topic of dressing up so completely, she says:  “I love playing themes. I think as an actress, I love telling stories when it comes to makeup or hair or and whatever outfit I wear. Sometimes I want to be channeling Bridget Bardot or Diana Ross … to me it always has to be a story.”

See the video and a slideshow of her so many looks, here.

Kardashians: the Movie?

Celebuzz asked Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian which actors they’d choose to play the clan in a (hypothetical, and totally feasible) Keeping Up with the Kardashians movie. The results, and fabulous hair of course, below.

Kim’s casting:

Kim: Penelope Cruz

Khloe: Liv Tyler

Kourtney: Vanessa Hudgens

Kris Jenner: Catherine Zeta-Jones

Bruce Jenner: Michael Douglas

Khloe’s casting:

Kim: Jennifer Lopez

Khloe: Drew Barrymore

Kourtney: Eva Longoria

Kris Jenner: Sharon Stone

Bruce Jenner: Arnold Schwartzenegger

My favorite hair: Vanessa Hudgens’ as Kourtney:

Love Vanessa’s locks in lots of different looks:

Center part, no bangs (a little messy = okay with me)

bangs + up

bangs + wavy

Folica has some good How-To’s for creating different celebrity hairstyles right now. We interviewed stylists for their tips and product recommendations. All the goods, here: Red Carpet Salon.

It *is Friday … maybe this is the weekend to try something new. I know we New Yorkers are snowed in. Suspect there’s a lot of Playtime-with-Hair-and-Makeup occurring right now.

Kelly Osbourne Talks Weight & Addiction – Looks Great as a Blonde

She’s in the new Us Weekly, discussing weight loss and the irony of receiving more criticism for being overweight than for her drug addiction. I think she looks great as a blonde.

Though, the shaved-side is a pretty tough look to rock too and she’s does it just fine here:

Fierce eyelashes, right? Which look ya like?
