Happy Birthday to …

Jan!

(For those of you who are new to HairJunky, Jan used to have waist-length hair. She styled it differently every day for the entire month of March and then she cut it all off. Story, photos, video. She’s also Folica’s web designer. And untouchably cool.)

Jan says, “Hi everyone!”

It should come as no surprise that short hair hasn’t deterred her from styling wizardry.

(Those glasses are soo creepy, right? She’ll surprise us sometimes by just turning around with them on.)

On the day of her haircut:

And here she is today. This one is titled, Whose birthday is it?

More Jan on HairJunky.

Jan in … April

Since the Jan in March saga concluded, I’ve gotten tons of requests for an encore. “More Jan!” “How’s she wearing her short hair?” “Keep us posted!” “Jan!”

Ask and you shall receive. Here’re our star’s styles this week alone:

Today’s the day.

Jan in March: And the stylist is …

Sally Hershberger!

Who more perfect than Sally to give Jan a hot, choppy, short style with edge and class both? Methinks no one.

So exciting.

Personally, I can’t wait to visit one of the best salons in the world. Sally (and her team, I’m imagining four – how big do you think it is?) will be taking on Jan’s locks this Wednesday.

I’ll be along for the ride with a camera, a videographer and a collection of questions for our interview with Sally.

Anything you want me to ask her? Leave them as comments or Tweet ‘em to me @NYHairJunky and I’ll ask!

Follow me there or check back here for all the behind-the-scenes action and Jan’s makeover.

Jan in March: Cut Date

Next week. Wednesday. April 14th.

READY?

Who do you think the stylist is??

Hint: Clients include Kate Moss, Steven Spielberg and Annie Leibovitz.

!?!

P.S. I think Jan should cut her hair like this. Long, soft shag on the top and deep cut bangs for a boyish shape. Kind of partial to the color too.

Jan in March: CUT UPDATE

Hi. We have not forgotten about Jan’s finale chop (especially not with this suspicious hot weather). Quite the opposite actually: Her style run was impressive enough to entice one of the world’s (yep, speaking planetary) best hairstylists to own the makeover.

There’ll be a team, it’ll rain twenty-odd inches of hair and then someone will say, “I’m spent” and Jan will emerge transformed.

I have to keep the who/what/when haps detes on the sly for now but as soon as they’re releasable (soon), you’ll be the first to know.

Thanks for hanging in there. We do some other cool stuff around here – hopefully it’s haute enough to keep all you avids entertained. Happy Wednes-sweltering-summer-heat-in-spring=so weird-day.

Jan in March: The Final Day – 30: Farewell Flowers

Even though March is over, Jan decided to give us one more look. A bonus, farewell, last hurrah. Wave goodbye to Jan’s streak of styles, head on over to the Jan’s Cut post to suggest her makeover cut and stay tuned for 1. Her cut! and 2. MY go at the next round of daily dos. (Yesterday I told my roommate. She said she’d be going into hiding.)

Styling: Made a high pony, secured and then braided it. Draped, folded and pinned in place, adding tiny flowers to finish. Hairsprayed.

Styling Time: 10 minutes
